Yongjia mobilizes retired soldiers to become professional and technical personnel in the manufacturing industry.

On May 9, 2022, a mobilization ceremony for the “Rural Talent Empowering High-Quality Development of Manufacturing” talent training program, specifically for veterans, was held at the Wenzhou System Process Equipment Science Research Institute. This event aimed to mobilize veterans to achieve full and decent employment through skills training, transforming them from important military human resources into a vital force driving economic and social development. The event was attended by the deputy county head in charge of relevant matters, leaders from the county’s People’s Armed Forces Department, Economic and Information Bureau, Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, Veterans Affairs Bureau, Wenzhou System Process Equipment Science Research Institute, and 30 veterans.
The event included a site visit for retired military personnel to a pump and valve company. Wang Hanzhou, Chairman of Chaoda Valve Group Co., Ltd., introduced the global demand for pumps and valves, the advantages of Yongjia’s pump and valve industry, current production status, and future development trends, giving the retired military personnel a preliminary understanding of the pump and valve industry.
To dispel veterans’ concerns that there is no future in becoming skilled workers, Gu Shize, chairman of Dongbao Valve Co., Ltd., a representative of veteran entrepreneurs, shared his story of how he, as a farmer’s son, started as a general worker after retiring from the military and built his business. He encouraged veterans to actively participate in learning, comprehensively improve their own qualities, become talents in the Yongjia pump and valve industry, and better realize their own value as veterans.
The event also provided detailed answers to questions raised by veterans regarding training course offerings and post-training employment, effectively enhancing the veterans’ desire to become professional and technical personnel.
Next, the Wenzhou System Process Equipment Science Research Institute will provide three months of free skills training for selected veterans. Veterans who pass the training will be given priority in being recommended to leading pump and valve companies in Yongjia County.
